Tropical Treasure Islands

Floating in a clear blue sea, these Tropical Islands, are brightly coloured and have some fantastic landscapes, we have a volcano, some huge stone heads, the lost royal princess castle and some beautiful trees, not to mention of course the forgotten waterfalls and lakes....These islands could be used as Circle Time markers or maybe to inspire some creative writing stories. Of course you could always use them for the fabulous Shark Attack game, one of our party favourites. Dot the islands around your ocean (hall or room!) and choose 2 children to be the hungry sharks. Ask the children to show you their best swimming strokes to the music (Hawaii Five-O is a good track for this) and then when the music stops the sharks run and catch somebody!....they become the next hungry shark. You may be playing this for a while as it is possible all the children will want to be sharks. Good news is after all that running about the chance of the children sitting quietly with a book while you get a well deserved cuppa is very high!...
